Experience. Commitment.
Results.
Aimee McCarron was born and raised in New Orleans. And she’s ready to deliver for you on day one.
A budget expert and committed public servant, Aimee knows how to use the powers of the Council to get results for you and our neighborhoods. From damaged streets to drainage and from permits to public safety — improving our quality of life takes experience and a never-quit commitment to change. That’s Aimee McCarron.
Aimee’s Plan
Safer and Brighter Streets:
Safety means maintaining our lights and tackling blight in order to create an environment where crime cannot thrive.
We must also continue to rebuild our law enforcement operations by hiring more civilians, modernizing our technology (like using Zoom to record police reports), and expanding services (ex: crisis response).
Safety also means holding the Judges, the District Attorney, and the Sheriff accountable. Aimee is a budget expert - she knows how to hold their feet to the fire, and she can make sure they spend your tax dollars wisely in order to ensure reliable justice and safer streets.
Aimee knows how Councilmembers can make our streets safer.
Workforce and Economy:
In order to rebuild the city’s ability to maintain and repair its assets and end permitting nightmares, we need to modernize our systems to match 21st century standards. Too much of our city is broken or poorly maintained - Aimee knows we can do much better. When she’s on city council, she will work with the administration and fellow council members to make sure the city works for everyone.
We also need to expand our public workforce to better meet the needs of the people. For example, we currently have only one city electrician, when really we need ten. This will help city services thrive while creating more job opportunities and boosting our economy.
Our public works department must be capable of quickly fixing a traffic light or repairing a street, and people shouldn’t suffer while we wait for contractors to eventually do the job. Neighboring parishes like Jefferson can do this — why can’t we do it too?
We will with Aimee’s leadership.
Local Council Offices:
Aimee will hold weekly Satellite City Council Office Hours in a library, NORD facility, or community center near you. There, you will be able to get answers quickly from your Council member and her staff.
Getting downtown to City Hall within business hours is difficult, and often times it’s impossible for working people and families. Whether it’s for a permit or a pothole, City Council members exist not just to take your calls, but to meet with you and help you solve your problems.
Why shouldn’t your District A Council member have a local meeting spot in her district in order to hear from you and answer your questions on site?
When Aimee is your Councilmember, you will.
